Help us test hyperctl for Windows!

Builds for the HyperTemplates CLI (hyperctl) have been available for Windows for several weeks now, but we have so far been unable to test them. We’ve taken some care to use go’s os.PathSeparator in methods that read from and write to the file system, but we aren’t comfortable exposing Windows downloads on Downloads until we can do some real world testing.

Windows downloads

If you are interested in testing Windows builds of hyprectl, here are the latest releases as of June 11, 2025:

Windows releases will be published alongside new Mac and Linux releases following this hyperctl_${version}_windows_${platform}.tar.gz naming convention. Alternatively, just copy the URL for one of the linux releases and s/linux/windows/.

How to test

Build something with HyperTemplates!
Or, if you’re still learning HyperTemplates, try running through one or both of these tutorials:

  1. Quick Start (~3-5 minutes)
  2. Learn HyperTemplates (~15-20 minutes)

Please share any issues you run into or feedback about hyperctl for Windows on this thread, or in a new topic in this category.

Thanks in advance for your time. :folded_hands:

We look forward to making hyperctl great on Windows! :rocket:

The downloads page is showing the Windows builds now:

They will be tagged as “alpha” until we can get a little more testing done.
